What do two faculty members and a French philosopher have in common?

They’re all in West Michigan this week shooting a documentary on Alain Badiou, who the New York Times called “France’s most famous living philosopher.”

Jason Adams, an adjunct faculty member in the School of Communications, and Azfar Hussain, associate professor of liberal studies, are producing the film with a colleague from Virginia Tech. Badiou was interviewed in Allendale, Grand Rapids and Holland.

The filmmakers raised $10,000 to fund the film via Indiegogo. It’s expected to be released in early 2015.

Adams was Badiou’s graduate student at the European Graduate School; Hussain said he has been interested in Badiou since he worked in Bangladesh as a journal editor.
