For the second year in a row, the Grand Valley Dodgeball Club won the National College Dodgeball Association championship April 13, after beating Saginaw Valley State University in a 3-2 match.

The NCDA 2014 National Championship took place at Ohio State University from April 12-13. Grand Valley beat University of Maryland during the quarter-finals and James Madison University during the semi-finals before going on to the final match against Saginaw Valley.

“It’s a major accomplishment and surreal, especially since our current group of players have won back-to-back championships. It’s a whole new group of players than the first group who won four championships, so we’re making our own footprint,” said Mark Trippiedi, president of Dodgeball Club.

This is the sixth national championship the Dodgeball Club has won since the team formed in 2005. The club sport has more than 40 players.
