Contest: Create plan for #GVSU's social media accounts
Do you have a creative idea for Grand Valley’s Instagram account or Facebook page?
Social:You, a campus-wide competition organized by the Marketing
Department in the Seidman College of Business, challenges teams of
students to create a social media plan for the university’s official social
media platforms.
The contest is open to all undergraduate and graduate students.
Registration ends March 10 and plans are due March 24.
“The contest is a great opportunity to think differently about
something that students use constantly,” said Justin Lawrence,
graduate assistant in the Marketing Department. “Taking a different
point of view on technology, that of an institution rather than an
individual, is an interesting challenge for students of any major.”
Lawrence said content should showcase Grand Valley pride,
student life, tradition, academics and athletics.
All materials, including videos, photos, graphics and text must
be created by participants and included in the finished social media
plan. Submissions should span three to four months and can use one or
all of the social media platforms where the university has a presence,
including Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter
and YouTube. A full list can be found at
www.gvsu.edu/socialmedia.
The top three plans will be chosen to be presented to a panel of
judges April 1-3. The winners will be announced April 8. The first
place winner will receive $500 and the second place winner will
receive $100.
Registration forms and contest guidelines can be found on the
Marketing Department’s Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/seidmanmarketing
or by sending an email to Justin Lawrence at [email protected].
