Arts at Noon Series to host cello and piano duo
Chicago-based iAN & ANi Duo, comprised of Russian cellist Ian
Maksin and Bulgarian pianist Ani Gogova, will perform at Grand
Valley’s next Arts at Noon Series, Wednesday, March 12, from noon-1
p.m. in Cook-DeWitt Center, Allendale Campus. The series is open to
the public with free admission.
In a little over a year
since their inception, iAN & ANi have performed more than 50
concerts in the U.S. and Europe, at several international festivals,
and in broadcasts on National Public Radio, Bulgarian National Radio
and Russian Radio.
Their debut album, “Tango Plus,” released October 2012, features new
arrangements for cello and piano of Astor Piazzolla’s music, as well
as works by Ravel, Ginastera, DeFalla, Rodio Shchedrin, and a world
premiere of a work by award-winning Chicago composer Ilya Levinson
commissioned by the duo.
