Artist will lead Day of Dead celebration

Local artist Rolando Mancera will lead participants at a Day of the Dead workshop on Thursday, October 30.

Day of the Dead, or “Día de Muertos,” is an ancient and celebrated Hispanic traditions.

The campus community is invited to participate and build a traditional Day of the Dead alter, from 6-8 p.m. in the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information Commons. Mancera, who was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, will also explain the meaning of death in Mexican culture and discuss the artifacts for the alter.

It will remain at the library for one week.
