William Baum Endowment Fund Series presents piano concert
Frances Renzi, an experienced teacher as well as performer, will be
the featured pianist at the William Baum Endowment Fund Series Sunday,
March 24, from 3-4:30 p.m., Sherman Van Solkema Recital Hall,
Performing Arts Center, GVSU Allendale Campus. Renzi will also conduct
a piano master class in the same location on Monday, March 25, from 11 a.m.-noon.
Professor Emerita at the University of Toledo, Renzi received a
commendation from the Ohio Senate in 2000 honoring her outstanding
university career of 27 years. She has appeared as soloist with many
orchestras throughout North America, Taiwan, and China, giving
recitals in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, on the Dame Myra Hess
Memorial Concert Series in Chicago, and the Phillips Collection in
Washington, D.C., the National Concert Hall in Taipei, and the China
Conservatory in Beijing.
“Renzi has a way of making music come alive,” wrote Boris Nelson
of the Toledo Blade. Whether in recital, as orchestral soloist, or
chamber musician, her artistry remains apparent. She consistently
enthralls critics and audiences alike.
Open to the public. Free admission. For more information, please
