Neil deGrasse Tyson to visit Grand Valley

Astrophysicist and well-known space exploration expert Neil deGrasse Tyson will give a presentation at Grand Valley State University November 13.

Tyson is the Frederick P. Rose director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He has written 10 books on the topic of space exploration, is the host of the national radio program StarTalk, and is currently working on a remake of the TV series “Cosmos,” which will air on Fox Network in the spring of 2014.

During his presentation, Tyson will discuss the scientific process as a way to make and discover answers to large and small questions.

The event is free and open to the public.

Starting October 25, students, faculty and staff members can get tickets at the 20/20 Desk in the Kirkhof Center on the Allendale Campus. Tickets will be available to the public starting Friday, November 1, at 20/20 Desk or online for a minimal handling fee. K-12 educators may request tickets online for groups of students starting October 9.
