Visiting artist Todd Chilton to give lecture

Chicago artist Todd Chilton will give a free public lecture, “Angled,” Wednesday, April 11, 7:30 p.m. at Grand Valley's Haggar Auditorium, Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences. The free event is open to the public and sponsored by the Art & Design Department and Visiting Artist Committee.

Born in Chula Vista, California in 1977, Chilton lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. Exhibitions of his work, which features hand-painted geometric abstractions, include “Angled” at Rhona Hoffman Gallery in Chicago, “Evens” at the Central Utah Art Center, “For January” at Tony Wight Gallery, Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and “The Suburban” in Oak Park, Illinois.

Recent group shows include exhibitions in Bellstreet Projects in Vienna, Austria, and the Glassell School of Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Chilton earned a B.F.A. from Brigham Young University in 2002, and an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005.
