Survey aims to improve transition to college
First-year students at Grand Valley are invited to complete an
interactive web survey about support services offered at Grand Valley.
The survey runs from September 11 through October 9.
The survey is through MAP-Works, an innovative, web-based program
that helps to improve a student’s transition to college.
“We learned a lot in the past few years about our students’
expectations through the survey,” said Nancy Giardina, assistant vice
president for Academic Affairs. “We were able to tweak some of our
student support offerings to provide better service to students.”
Faculty and staff members are asked to encourage first-year
students to complete the survey. Faculty and staff members were sent
an email from the MAP-Works Committee that provides detailed
information about program.
When students complete the survey, faculty and staff members are
given feedback and advisors may follow up with individual students
after viewing responses.
