Attention faculty and staff members who fancy themselves grillers: it's time to get your grill on!

Health and Wellness is hosting a Summer Grill Challenge and is seeking recipes from campus chefs who want to compete in a cook-off.

Enter the contest by submitting healthy grilling recipes between July 1-25;  send it via email to [email protected], fax to (616) 331-3216 or mail to 140 Lake Michigan Hall. Criteria for recipes include the following:

• Must be a main dish for lunch or dinner, and include three in-season produce items;
• Cost is limited to $20 for 4 servings
• Total prep and cook time is limited to 1 hour
• Must include at least two of these components: whole grain, fruit, vegetable, low-fat dairy ingredients (if applicable), lean meat or lean protein (if applicable).

Three top chefs will be selected. The chefs will then prepare their dishes (with help from Campus Dining) during the Farmers Market on August 1 (rain date, August 8).

Campus community members are invited to the Summer Grill Challenge on August 1 to vote for their favorite griller. Cost to participate in the voting is $3, proceeds will benefit Grand Valley’s Student Food Pantry.
