Rowing team takes top title at Lubbers Regatta

Grand Valley women’s and men’s rowing teams took home the Spring
Lake Yacht Club trophy at the 17th annual Don Lubbers Regatta in
Spring Lake April 14. They received the most overall points for a
university.
For the fourth year in a row, the women’s team won the Women’s
Points trophy. The men’s team took second in the Men’s Points trophy,
behind the University of Michigan by one point. The teams competed
against teams from eight universities, including the University of
Michigan, and four high schools.
“It was a great day for Grand Valley and it was fantastic to see
our rowers perform so well,” said John Bancheri, head coach. “Having
great racing gave athletes, parents, and alumni a chance to showcase
speed and talent.”
