The campus community is invited to a biannual reception that recognizes student leaders and organizations on campus.

The Venderbush Leadership Reception will take place Friday, February 24, from 1-2:30 p.m. in the Pere Marquette Room of the Kirkhof Center. Register for the event at www.gvsu.edu/leadership.

The keynote speaker is Dan Breuker, a Grand Valley alumnus who worked in the Office of Student Life and was a resident assistant before he graduated in 1992. He is senior account manager for Kentwood Office Furniture and an active member of Racing Awareness. He will discuss how his campus engagement experiences impacted his life and thoughts on leadership.

Nominees and the recipient of the Student Organization Center’s Immediate Impact Award will be announced and new members of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honorary Society will be recognized.

The reception is named after Kenneth R. Venderbush, who came to Grand Valley in 1969 and served as associate professor, dean of William James College and vice president of Student Affairs during his time at the university. He was a strong advocate of student leadership participation as a learning tool.
