MAREC hosts annual advisory board meeting

Business development updates and a strategic vision for the year ahead are among topics planned for Grand Valley’s Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center’s annual advisory board meeting set for September 24.

At the meeting, MAREC Director Arn Boezaart will discuss efforts this past year to assist Lakeshore start-ups and companies with technology innovation. He will provide an update on the early results of the Lake Michigan Offshore Wind Assessment project, and will hightlight activities and programs that have had a positive impact on the Lakeshore region in the past year.

The MAREC Advisory Board includes James Bachmeier, vice president of Finance and Administration for Grand Valley; Cathy Brubaker-Clarke, director of Economic Development for the City of Muskegon; Ed Garner, president and CEO of Muskegon Area First; Bonnie Hammersley, administrator for Muskegon County; Christopher Kelly, attorney for Parmenter O’Toole; Cindy Larsen, president of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce; and Chris McGuigan, president of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County.
