'I Am Grand Valley' nominations open Wednesday
Nominations for the 10th annual “I Am Grand Valley” student
leadership recognition campaign open Wednesday, October 3.
Faculty and staff members can nominate students who display and
employ strong leadership skills that affect the campus community. The
only requirement is that nominees be enrolled during the fall 2012 and
winter 2013 semesters. Nominations are due December 7 and can be
submitted online at www.gvsu.edu/iamgv.
A celebration to kick off the campaign will take place October 3
from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. by Zumberge Pond. Refreshments will be served and
students can share their leadership story on the “I Am Grand Valley”
board.
The Office of Student Life will distribute 1,000 “I Am Grand
Valley” shirts and certificates to nominated students to wear on the
first Wednesday of every month. The first “I Am Grand Valley” Day will
take place October 3.
Nominees will be recognized at the “I Am Grand Valley”
Leadership Reception on January 30 during Campus Leadership Week,
which is January 28-February 1, 2013.
