GVSU Huntington lecture features Doug Rothwell
The Huntington Breakfast Lecture on March 21 will feature Doug
Rothwell, president of Business Leaders for Michigan and former CEO of
the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Rothwell’s talk “From Turning Around to Growing a New Michigan”
is sponsored by Grand Valley State University’s Seidman College of
Business. The event is free and open to the public.

Rothwell is the first president and CEO of Business Leaders for
Michigan, formed in 2009 by uniting Detroit Renaissance and the
Michigan Business Leadership Council. During his tenure as president
of Detroit Renaissance, he led the development of the region’s first
economic growth strategy — the Road to Renaissance — which raised more
than $70 million in investments.
Prior to joining Detroit Renaissance, Rothwell served as
executive director of Worldwide Real Estate for General Motors. He
also founded and served as president and CEO of the Michigan Economic
Development Corporation.
