Former assistant dean Mary Barnum dies

With sadness, Grand Valley notes the death of Mary Barnum. She died April 2 at age 63.

Barnum worked at Grand Valley for nearly 11 years. She started in 1987 as a visiting instructor of accounting and then served as assistant dean of the Seidman College of Business from 1991-1994. She also worked as interim director of Continuing Education, and as manager of marketing and advertising before leaving in 1998.

Funeral services are set for Saturday, April 7, at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St. NE in Grand Rapids. Public visitation is from 1-3 p.m. in the Keeler Lounge, followed by an open memorial service at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
