Physical therapy students will show research skills

Physical therapy students will showcase their research skills during the fifth annual DPT Research Day, set for Thursday, July 14.

Three sessions of presentations will run from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in Loosemore Auditorium, DeVos Center. Poster presentations will be highlighted from 10:15-11:15 a.m.

The doctoral candidates conducted their research with a faculty mentor. Topics are wide-ranging and include rehabilitation, athlete nutrition behaviors and a case study in caloric expenditures for school-age children.

Graduation for this physical therapy doctoral class is set for August 10. John Peck, professor and chair of physical therapy, said students work on their research projects for more than a year, meeting with their faculty mentors weekly.
