In anticipation of the Fall Arts Celebration lecture by Michael
Sandel, a faculty panel discussion will focus on political discourse.
“The Lost Art of Democratic Debate” will be held Thursday,
September 15, from 4-5:15 p.m. in Kirkhof Center, room 2215. For more

Panel members are Charles Pazdernik, associate professor and
chair of classics; John Uglietta, associate professor of philosophy;
Kathleen Underwood, associate professor of history and director of
women and gender studies; and Darren Walhof, associate professor of
political science.
Sandel’s FAC lecture is set for September 22; the Harvard
professor has argued that political discourse will be improved only if
people learn to argue about moral convictions and principles of
justice.
