"The walks I've attended before are like celebrations," said Justin Gray, president of the initiative and a junior majoring in nursing. "We want this walk to be the same. There will be presentations, live music and crafts; it will be very family-friendly."

Participants can choose to walk 1-mile or 3-mile routes. Participants are encouraged to create a team of walkers and raise funds for patient care, patient education and research. The walk will feature presentations from two Honored Heroes, people that have overcome Crohn's or Colitis disease. They will initiate the walk with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

To register as an individual walker, join a team or start a team visit www.cctakesteps.org.
