National and local experts will discuss new approaches for everyday
and proactive aging at Grand Valley State University’s Sixth Annual
Art and Science of Aging Multidisciplinary Conference. The theme for
the 2011 conference is Optimal Aging: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
The conference will open with a presentation by Dr. Larry
Lawhorne, director of Geriatrics at the Wright State Boonhof School of
Medicine and former director of the MSU-based Geriatric Education
Center of Michigan. His lecture is titled, “The Modern Fountain of
Youth: An Ecology of Optimal Aging.”

Lawhorne’s presentation begins at 9 a.m. Morning and afternoon
