Total enrollment for the Winter 2010 semester is up 2.7 percent
from last year. Lynn Blue, vice provost and dean of Academic Services
and Information Technology, said this allowed the university to meet
its enrollment goals.
“We are also pleased that credit hours are up by 2.8 percent,”
said Blue, who spoke at the February 5 Board of Trustees meeting. “The
average student load is up from last year for both undergraduate and
graduate students.”
Blue noted that the number of students of color is up over last
year, and the number of full-time students has increased.
“Seventy-seven percent of our student population are full-time
students. That is great news when there are a lot of trends suggesting
there would be more part-time students. That hasn’t panned out at the
undergraduate level,” Blue said.
