Students, faculty and staff members from four African American sororities are sponsoring a blanket drive to benefit homeless people in Grand Rapids.
The Collective Covering Blanket Drive runs through Saturday, November 20. New or gently used blankets or comforters (children and adult sizes) will be collected and given to the Guiding Light Rescue Mission for the Homeless next week.
The sororities involved are Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta, Delta Sigma Theta and Alpha Kappa Alpha. Collection boxes are set up in Lake Michigan Hall, room 260; Children’s Enrichment Center; Fieldhouse, room 163; Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, room 326; Kirkhof Center, rooms 1110 and 1201.
