On Monday May 3, the Grand Valley State University rowing team will
meet Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and U.S. Congressman Brady at
world famous Geno's Steaks -- known for its cheesesteak sandwiches.
The dignitaries will welcome the team to Philly for the Dad Vail
Regatta.
The team will compete later in the week and hopes to repeat its
great showing from 2009, when the women’s varsity eight won over
highly respected and very fast competition. Four crews won semi-final
victories in Philadelphia and three went on to medal with the entire
program finishing third in team points.
