Grand Valley President Thomas J. Haas helped the Gerald R. Ford
Council Boy Scouts of America celebrate its 100th anniversary at a
ceremony held at the Eberhard Center August 10.
Haas spoke about how scouting has had a positive influence on
his family and how the experience benefited his sons, Eric and Greg,
who are both Eagle Scouts. Eric is an Air Force Academy graduate and
currently a major in the U.S. Air Force on exchange to the Royal
Canadian Air Force as a CF18 Fighter Pilot Trainer. Greg is a Coast
Guard Academy graduate who is currently a lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Haas introduced video clips of his sons who spoke about how the
skills they learned as Boy Scouts helps them in their current careers.
