Indulge in chocolate, proceeds benefit Women's Center

Grand Valley's Women's Center will host its annual "Indulge in a Cause" fundraiser, a night of chocolate decadence coupled with a silent auction, with proceeds going to benefit the center’s scholarship endowment, and program endowment.

"Indulge in a Cause" is set for Thursday, February 18, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Eberhard Center, room 215, 301 W. Fulton St.

Chocolate desserts by area chefs and restaurants are featured, in addition to a silent auction. Auction items are listed on the Women’s Center’s Web site, visit www.gvsu.edu/women_cen and click on "Annual Programs and Celebrations."

Tickets for the event are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and $10 for GVSU students. Tickets can be purchased via the center’s Web site at the address above.

Marlene Kowalski-Braun, director of the Women's Center, said the event is the center's main annual fundraiser. The Women's Center offers scholarships to non-traditional students who may not otherwise qualify for financial aid.

"The endowment is critical to ensuring that the Women's Center can continue to create meaningful learning around gender and advocate for gender justice through education and community engagement," Kowalski-Braun said.
