"I Am Grand Valley" nominations open

Nominations for “I Am Grand Valley” are still open. Faculty and staff are asked to nominate students who they feel display and employ strong leadership skills that affect the campus community. Nominations are due December 3 and can be submitted online at www.gvsu.edu/iamgv.

The Office of Student Life will distribute 1,000 “I Am Grand Valley” shirts and certificates to nominated students, and the only requirement is that nominees be enrolled during the Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 semesters.

The year's “I Am Grand Valley” campaign marks the eighth year, and is dedicated to recognizing student leaders on campus. During Campus Leadership Week in January, a variety of events and activities will take place to celebrate the involvement and leadership of these students. Campus Leadership is celebrated year-round on the first Wednesday of every month, when students are asked to wear their “I am Grand Valley” shirts to show the collective force of individual leadership.

Nominees and their nominations will be recognized at the “I Am Grand Valley” Leadership Reception on January 19, 2011.
