Grand Valley State University's Office of Conference Services
recently received One-Stop Shop Certification from the Association of
Collegiate Conference and Event Directors-International (ACCED-I).
This certification program is designed to give assurance to
meeting planners that GVSU provides one point of contact for all
services, one all-encompassing contract, and one itemized bill at the
conclusion of the event or conference. The certification is emblematic
of “best practice” meeting planning service typically offered by
convention centers and larger hotels. Grand Valley State University is
one of 34 institutions of higher education in North America to receive
the One-Stop Shop Certification. The certification is valid for two
years, at which time it is reviewed for possible renewal by ACCED-I,
the only professional association dedicated to collegiate conferences
and events.
“David VanderSloot, director of conference planning, and staff
are commended for setting their operation apart from other collegiate
conference and events departments by becoming a One-Stop Shop
certified operation to better serve their clients,” said Deborah Blom,
ACCED-I executive director.
