Grand Valley State University’s College of Education will honor a
geology professor during its convocation ceremony on December 10.
About 135 graduates are expected to participate. The ceremony is a
precursor to Grand Valley’s Commencement Ceremonies scheduled for
December 11 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
Convocation will take place:
Friday, December 10, at 7 p.m.
Ambassador Ballroom of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel
Downtown Grand Rapids
During convocation, The Outstanding Alumni Award Winner for
Outstanding Educator will be presented to Geology professor Larry A.
Fegel (Class of 1973). Fegel is being recognized as a leader in an
impressive number of projects and activities that have had a
significant and lasting impact on science education in the region at
all levels, especially his distinguished work to help develop the Kent
Intermediate School District (KISD) science curriculum.
