ArtPrize Poetry and Dance at GVSU Outdoor Art and Sculpture Exhibition Center

A special Grand Valley ArtPrize Poetry and Dance program will take place at Friday, October 1, at the GVSU Outdoor Art and Sculpture Exhibition Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The program will begin at 3 p.m., near the outdoor piano just east of the Eberhard Center, 301 W. Fulton.

Three-minute poetry and dance compositions, inspired by the exhibited ArtPrize pieces, will be performed by Professor Patricia Clark's poetry studentsalongside students from Grand Valley's Dance Program, under the direction of Shawn T Bible. The dance and poetry students have been working in collaboration to create a performance piece inspired by each of the sculptures.

The site-specific performances, next to each piece of art, will lead viewers on a walking tour including all of the 23 sculptures at the GVSU Exhibition Center. This event is free and open to the public. Following this program will be a surprise dance performance at 6 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle.
