Taking a cue from the turbulent world economy, the theme for World Trade
Week 2009's half-day business conference is "Translating Global
Volatility into Profit."
The 23rd annual conference will bring in experts from various areas of
specialty to share best practices to overcome and turn global volatility
into opportunities.
The World Trade Week business conference is Wednesday, May 6 from 7:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations for attendees are still open. For more
information on World Trade Week activities, visit www.gvsu.edu/wtw
.
The conference is comprised of three tracks, with breakout sessions to
allow more experienced global practitioners to hold high-level
discussions on current issues while those just starting down the global
path will gain new start-up information.
The keynote speaker is D. Jeffrey Dietrich a senior analyst for the
Institute for Trend Research. At the institute, Dietrich provides
insight, analysis and support for companies throughout the US and
Canada, assisting the companies through the phases of the business
cycle. His knowledge of business cycle changes, combined with his
ability to effectively communicate the need for action makes, his
speaking style informative, engaging and entertaining. More than 30
years of public speaking experience before large and small groups
enables Dietrich to bring the often confusingĀ maze of economic
information into sharper focus that results in practical business
application.
