WGVU-TV named station of the year

WGVU-TV and radio received eight awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. In addition, WGVU-TV was named Station of the Year 2008 for Public Broadcasting Stations. This is the first time the station has received this honor.

WGVU-TV earned four best awards for the following shows: "Michigan Healthcare: Searching for Solutions," "Decision 2008: The U.S. Senatorial Debate," "Stefon Harris & Friends: African Tarantella - Dances with Duke," and "Battle Creek: Celebrating Flight 2008."

WGVU Radio picked up four Merit awards for "Horse Triathalon," "Weeknight Jazz promo," and "Urban." And, WGVU was honored in the Newscast category.
