Students become charter members of Geographic Honor Society

Seven geography students were the first to be initiated into the International Geographic Honor Society in a ceremony in Mackinac Hall on April 16.

The students are charter members of the local chapter, Lambda Omega, of the International Geographic Honor Society, Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU). GTU was founded in 1928 and became a national organization in 1931. The students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements, scholarship and dedication to geography.
