The Student Food Pantry, sponsored by the Women's Center and other campus departments, has helped more than 150 students since it began last April.
"The program has been very successful because of the
consistent food donations and the demand for help are balanced,"
said Rachael DeWitt, graduate assistant and coordinator of the Student
Food Pantry.
Most of the donations have come from group sponsorships and
Grand Valley faculty and staff members. "The Grand Valley
community's extreme generosity allows us to move forward and keep the
pantry well-stocked," DeWitt said.
Monetary,
non-perishable, and toiletry items are welcome. Donations are accepted
at the Women's Center, 1201 Kirkhof Center; call (616) 331-2748 for
