An updated Web site for the Presidents Council, State Universities of
Michigan, is a key location for news and information on Michigan's 15
public universities.
The site, located at www.pcsum.org
, is now the place to go for the latest information and news about
Michigan’s 15 public universities. The recently launched, totally
rebuilt Web site brings together information from the universities that
is updated daily, as well background on higher education in Michigan and
innovative programs universities are doing such as the Michigan
Initiative for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
A new, dynamic version of the Web site features a photographic tour of
the 15 Michigan public universities that are members of the Presidents
Council State Universities of Michigan.
Visitors to the site can also sign up for RSS feeds to bring them
updated news and scheduled events on the Presidents Council’s calendar.
One RSS will allow visitors to tap into Issue Media Group articles about
higher education in the state. Issue Media Group created and maintains
Capital Gains, Model D and Rapid Growth, media sites that focus on
economic development in Michigan. A members-only portion of the site
allows university staff to submit programs for academic review to be
assessed by professionals at other universities.
“The new site will keep our audience updated with news regarding higher
education in Michigan. As Michigan moves into the knowledge economy, it
is more critical than ever that policymakers and the public have the
latest factual information on the institutions of higher education that
are leading the state toward innovation and economic progress. Our new
design will make it easier for those interested to get the data they
need,” said Michael A. Boulus, Executive Director of the Presidents Council.
The site is also intended to be helpful to prospective and students
seeking information. Visitors can read about career exploration, college
preparation, public policy, financial aid, legislative issues and higher
education news.
The Presidents Council, State Universities of Michigan serves as a forum
for the presidents and chancellors of the Michigan 15 public
universities to discuss and frame positions on key higher education
finance and policy issues.
