The Philosophy Department will host a series of colloquiums that feature
invited speakers from Grand Valley and other colleges and universities.
The meetings are open to the campus community and held from 3:30-5 p.m.,
in Mackinac Hall, room BLL-110, unless noted otherwise. For more

• February 20: John Alexander, affiliate professor of philosophy,
"On Becoming the Person You Want to Be."
• February 27: Daniel Stephens, GVSU Philosophy Department, "Were
the Later Mohists Really Doing Logic?"
• March 13: Chris Latiolais, Kalamazoo College.
• March 20: Fred Dallmayr, Notre Dame University, "The Meaning and
Purpose of Dialogue Among Civilizations." Location to be announced.
• April 3: Martha Nussbaum, University of Chicago, "Trouble on the
Supreme Court: Constitutional Interpretation and the Capabilities
Approach." 4 p.m., Eberhard Center, multipurpose room.
• April 10: Christian Lotz, Michigan State University.
