NIS department wins seven awards

Grand Valley State University's News and Information Services department has won four gold awards and one silver award from the West Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The Forum, Election Center Web site, Honors College media kit and Accountability Report won gold awards; Grand Valley Magazine won a silver award.

And, The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization, awarded two NIS videos with Hermes Creative Awards. There were 3,700 entries from around the world.

Platinum is presented to entries judged to be among the most outstanding, recognized for excellence  in quality, creativity and resourcefulness. Gold is presented to entries that exceed the high standards of the industry norm.

The 2008 December Commencement Video won Platinum and the 2008 Study Abroad Scholarship Video won Gold. The videos can be viewed below.
