Niemeyer awards presented

Two faculty members and four students received Niemeyer awards at the annual awards banquet on April 6. Named for former Provost Glenn A. Niemeyer, the awards honor students and faculty members who strive for excellence in all aspects of the academic experience.

Linda Scott, professor of nursing and associate dean of KCON graduate programs, and Sridhar Sundaram, associate professor and chair of finance, were the faculty recipients.

Student recipients were undergraduates Paula Lampen, a physics and mathematics major, and Angela Lohman, an English major; and graduate students Ashley DesRocher, nursing, and Jeffery Sattler, business.

Niemeyer was Grand Valley's first provost, serving in that position from 1980-2001.
