GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Local companies can learn how to get value
out of Free Trade Agreements at a workshop presented by Grand Valley
State University’s Van Andel Global Trade Center and sponsored by MiBiz.
“Getting Value out of Free Trade Agreements” will explore how an
increase of new bi-lateral free trade agreements in the U.S. and
abroad can create opportunities that benefit companies trading in
these regions.
The workshop will be held Thursday, September 24, from 8:30
a.m.-3 p.m. in the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences, 301 Michigan
St. NE, Grand Rapids.
Topics include:
• Review of FTA agreements available
•
Understanding rules of origin, tariff shift, regional value content
and other concepts
• Examine qualifications for preferential duty
treatment
• Learn to develop business strategies around FTAs
