UPDATE: Due to the winter storm, Grand Valley State University will close all campuses and regional centers at 3 p.m. today, December 10, 2009. That means classes are canceled and only essential employees should report.
From Grand Valley State University President Thomas J. Haas: Our
decision to remain open today was based on a careful evaluation made
by the university's Public Safety and Facilities departments in
consultation with area road commissions. I am presently in my office
at Allendale. I took my time after meetings in GR this morning and
adjusted to the slower pace of traffic on Lake Michigan Dr.
I recognize that conditions are not uniform throughout the
region and suggest you use your best judgement about coming to campus
if you live in an area where travel is unwise. I have asked the
faculty, staff and administration to accomodate individual decisions
made for safety reasons.
