GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. -- Jon McDonald, a noted regional painter who
specializes in watercolor and oils, will join visitors to his Grand
Valley exhibition during a special reception. This is the second
installment of a series of small exhibitions showcasing local artists on
Grand Valley’s Pew Grand Rapids Campus.
The reception on Thursday, March 26, at 4 p.m., will be in the West
Gallery, located on the second floor of the Eberhard Center, 301 W.
Fulton St., on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The exhibition and
reception, with light refreshments, are free and open to the public.
Visitor and handicapped parking is available in the Eberhard Lot and
visitor parking also in the Fulton Lot.
McDonald attended Grand Haven High School, received an Illustrator’s
Certificate from Kendall College in 1969, and in 1972, earned a MFA in
painting with a drawing minor from the San Francisco Art Institute.
Currently, he is a professor of art at Kendall College of Art and
Design. The artist has had several one-man exhibits throughout the
country. A selection of his work is exhibited in the West Gallery
through July.
