With record numbers of donors and dollars in 2008-09, the Faculty
and Staff Campaign will continue "Growing a Greater Grand
Valley" in the 2009-2010 campaign.
Participation in the campaign from current faculty and staff
members reached 46 percent last year. Campaign co-chair Mary Watters,
from the Regional Math and Science Center, hopes the growth will
continue. "We are here because of our students. We are fortunate
to have the opportunity to help our students who need it now more than
ever," she said.
Watters is serving in her second year as co-chair, along with
co-chair Paul Stephenson, from the Department of Statistics.
Campaign materials will be sent to the homes of faculty and
staff members this week. Every gift will count toward the Shaping Our
Future comprehensive campaign. Expanding on a Grand Valley tradition,
gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar from current faculty and staff
who give to the Mary Idema Pew Library Learning and Information
Commons, Grand Valley Student Support Fund, and all endowed funds.
For more information on the campaign contact Shaun Shira,
