Derek Copp, the Grand Valley State University student who was shot by an
officer who was executing a search warrant in his off-campus apartment
on March 11, asked for privacy today as he returned to class.

Dean of Students Bart Merkle reiterated Copp's request to media that
they respect his privacy as he resumes his studies at Grand Valley.
