The Michigan Historical Commission will hold a public hearing at Grand
Valley State University to discuss Michigan's commemoration of the 150th
anniversary of the Civil War.
The commission's Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee is seeking comment
on its work plan until June 1. The commission's plan covers grassroots
involvement, events and projects, education, heritage tourism, marketing
and funding.
The public meeting at Grand Valley is May 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room
109-D of the DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus, 401 West
Fulton St.
