The autopsy on 24-year-old Daniel Lee Smith was completed Wednesday, March 11, with no conclusive cause of death discovered.
The Grand Valley student from Muskegon had a pre-existing medical condition involving seizures. Authorities say they must wait four to six weeks until they receive the toxocology report before determining the exact cause of death.
Officers went to Smith's apartment in South B on the Allendale Campus on Tuesday to check on him after a family member reported he failed to show up for a scheduled meeting. They found his body in his room. Officers report there were no signs of foul play.
