The Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership,
Pew Campus Operations and the Charter School offices will give visitors
a chance to see their new home in an April 16 open house.
The three departments relocated to the Bicycle Factory on March 25.
Grand Valley is leasing the second and third floors of the building,
located at 201 Front Ave. The open house is from 1-5 p.m. Appetizers,
beverages, and desserts will be served. A bicycle from Grand Rapids
BikeĀ Company will be raffled off.
The move created more space for the three departments, which were
previously located in the DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.
The Board of Trustees approved spending $2.6 million to finish
renovations on the two floors of the Bicycle Factory building. It was
part of a redevelopment project after the 110-year-old vacant building
burned to the ground in 2007.
