Art exhibit highlights kids

The Children's Enrichment Center is sponsoring an art exhibit, "Caring for kids means caring for our future," in celebration of April being Month of the Young Child.

A reception is planned for Thursday, April 16, at noon at the exhibit site, the Lake Ontario Hall Red Wall Gallery. Artwork done by the center's children, ages 2-12, will be on display, as well as a dozen black and white photographs by News and Information Services photographers Bernadine Carey-Tucker and Amanda Pitts.

"Each of the last three years, we've upped the level of excitement surrounding Month of the Young Child," said Sharalle Arnold, director of the center. "We keep striving to reach the campus community, to make them aware of the many issues children face and to become advocates for them."
