New speaker scheduled for Bush Legacy and Lessons Conference in Washington

Professor and Director of the Master’s Program in American Government at Georgetown University Stephen Wayne will be the morning keynote speaker at the Bush Legacy and Lessons Conference, December 12, in Capitol B Room of the Hyatt Regency in Washington. Wayne replaces John Burke.

An expert on the American presidency, Wayne has written 11 books and more than 100 articles, chapters and book reviews. His major works include Road to the White House, now in its eighth edition. Wayne has served as president of the Presidency Research Group and The National Capital Area Political Science Association. He has testified before Congress, advised both the Republican and Democratic National Committees on the presidential nomination process and worked as a consultant on various film documentaries on the American Presidency. Wayne received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree and doctorate from Columbia University. He is currently conducting research on the 2008 presidential nomination process.

• 11 a.m-12:15 p.m..: Panel II: Presidential Powers and the Bush Presidency with Louis Fisher, Dale Herspring, Mitch Sollenberger and Mark Rozell. Austin Knuppe will moderate in Capitol B Room.
• 12:15-1:45 p.m.: Luncheon address with Kasey Pipes, Bryce Room
• 2-3:15 p.m..: Panel III: Presidential Powers and the Bush Legacy with Thomas Moylan Keck and Gleaves Whitney. Austin Knuppe will moderate in Capitol B Room.
