Local filming to wrap this week

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The cast and crew of Grand Valley State University's Summer Film Project are wrapping up local filming this week on "Walter's Wife," a dark and highly visual tale about a crumbling marriage as seen from the perspective of a young boy.

MEDIA ARE INVITED TO ATTEND FINAL DAYS OF FILMING.

More than 20 students are working side-by-side with professionals from Michigan, Los Angles and Chicago, including several Grand Valley alumni. The short dramatic film was written by student Joshua A. Kinne and is being directed by alumnus Andy Fortenbacher. Also working on the project are summer film veterans John Otterbacher as producer and Michael Bosman as director of photography.

Grand Valley faculty members Scott Vanderberg and Jim Schaub are co-executive producers of Grand Valley’s 14th Summer Film Project. The film is a collaborative production of Clear Vision Films in association with Grand Valley Pictures and Orange Chair Productions.

“What's particularly exciting on this project is that we have a very diverse blend of professionals, alumni and students working together,” said Fortenbacher. “Many of the students have not been on a film set of this scale, but this group has come together quickly and they are learning the value of the process and procedure that is key to any good production.”
