CADILLAC, Mich. — Grand Valley State University is holding an
information session in Cadillac on November 13 for potential students to
learn more about Grand Valley's Master of Education in School Counseling
program in Northern Michigan.
This innovative program from Grand Valley State University is a
36-credit M.Ed. degree leading to a school counselor endorsement or a
school counselor license in Michigan. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree
who meets Grand Valley’s graduate admission requirements may apply.
Students who have not had previous coursework in advanced child
development, school learning, or classroom management would need to take
additional master’s courses in those areas. The program features
flexible and convenient class formats, including online options and
weekend courses, and could be completed in two years by taking two
courses per semester.
If sufficient interest is shown by prospective students, the program
would be offered at a site within a reasonable driving distance for most
individuals in Northern Michigan. The information session is scheduled
for Thursday, November 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wexford-Missaukee ISD,
Room 517, 9907 E 13th Street in Cadillac. To RSVP or get more
information about the program, contact (800) 690-0314, [email protected],
