Presentations will help educators prepare students for global workforce

An education expert who helps school districts and higher education institutions implement a global curriculum into their classrooms will discuss how to better prepare students for the workforce during two presentations.

Willard Daggett, president of the New York-based International Center for Leadership in Education, will talk to educators, parents and business leaders on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15-16, in Holland and Allendale. His presentations are sponsored by GVSU’s Continuing Education Division, Ottawa County Michigan Works! and the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District.

• May 15: 7:30-9:30 a.m., OAISD, 13565 Port Sheldon St., Holland
7-8:30 p.m., West Ottawa South High School, 3600 152nd Ave., Holland

• May 16: 8:30-10:30 a.m. GVSU Kirkhof Center, Allendale
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. lunch for participants, Kirkhof Center.

Through the International Center for Leadership in Education, Daggett has helped a number of states and hundreds of school districts with school improvement initiatives, many in response to No Child Left Behind mandates. Daggett has also collaborated with education ministries in several countries and with the Council of Chief State School Officers, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, National Governors Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and many other national organizations.
